Some Countries Deliberately Under Reporting COVID 19

Are some counties deliberataely under reporting COVID 19? Yes Absolutely

So we all know there is a global pandemic called COVID 19 that has spread across the globe and has both infected and killed many people. In fact the It is now late June and the global number of infections is just under 10 million with just under 500000 deaths.

These numbers are alarming but one of the most important ways to control this virus and understand the risk is to keep count of two very important numbers. How many people in a given country or area are contracting the virus and how many are dying. Without this vital information pretty much everything is unknown.

Well Governments and countries around the world will argue they cannot test everyone or lack the resources to test everyone. This may be true but some Governments are deliberately under reporting or deliberately not providing enough testing. The question has to be asked, why?

Some countries that rely heavily on tourism are deliberately fudging the figures. Countries like Vietnam went into lock-down for one week and magically it was all over and everything was better. Countries like Thailand have reported no new cases for over 30 days. In Vietnam it is even better, no new cases in 66 days and no deaths from COVID 19. Wow amazing. No, just under-reporting. They are only interested in one thing. Tourists returning and that means money.

What about their nearby neighbours, how is Indonesia doing, what about Bali? There is massive under-reporting so one has to question how reliable the official data is but many similarities are shared to countries like India and Brazil so the actual numbers could be similar to these two countries which have been hardest hit by this pandemic.

Vietnam and Thailand blatantly Lying about thier COVID 19 Success to get Tourists Back and they are not alone..

Great Leaders & Countries Winning the Fight against COVID19

Three Great Leaders and Nations Stamping on COVID19

I believe in giving credit where credit is due and unlike most people I don’t feel a need to always critique governments and politician. Rather I would like to share three shining examples of politicians showing remarkable leadership and governments actually working for the people and looking after the well-being of the masses. I have three examples of countries in the region who have shown their true worth.

Let’s first look at Singapore. Today’s date is 11 May 2020 and Singapore has reported just over 23800 cases of COVID 19. Singapore is a very close trading partner with China and geographically relatively close so when this virus first emerged Singapore was very swift to react. While the numbers are high only 20 people have actually died from this virus and the Government of Singapore along with their remarkable Prime Minister Lee Loong have taken the right steps to ensure the numbers and most importantly the death toll remained low. Singapore while still deep in the battle against COVID 19 looks to be doing exceptionally well. Less than 1 person in 1000 who contact COVID 19 in Singapore die from the virus. They truly have a fantastic health system a leader and Government they can be proud off. There is a battle to stop the spread of the virus in the immigrant worker dormitories right now but the spread of COVID 19 outside these areas has significantly reduced which is a very positive sign. Keep on fighting Singapore, you are winning,

Australia is next, Scott Morrisson had a brutal 2019. Australia had to endure wave after wave of natural disaster and come 2020 the COVID 19 outbreak. Like Singapore, Australia took swift action at the onset of the virus. The public was clearly kept in the loop, borders were locked down and then social distancing soon turned to a full lock-down of each State and Territory. At the centre of all of this was Scott Morrison, the Head of the Australian Government showing decisive action, firmness and compassion. Australia like Singapore understood that they were fighting two fights, a pathological war and a financial battle. Provisions were made to ensure the poorest and most vulnerable were looked after. To date just under 7000 cases have been reported across Australia with sadly 97 deaths. The Australian Government and people while still fighting this pandemic seem to have it on the ropes and signs are looking very positive. They are soon planing to curb back restrictions but are cautions not to create a second wave. Well done Australia and Scott Morrison.

New Zealand, possible the best example of a Government taking decisive and positive action against COVID 19 and it is no surprise that the leader of this Nation is none other than Jacinda Ardern. If every country had a Prime Minister like Ardern the world would run out of problems. New Zealand tool swift action and implemented strict lock-downs while caring for the most vulnerable and needy. New Zealand is in the 12th round against COVID 19 and are looking stronger than ever.

So there is a common pattern here. All three countries clearly have great Governments along with highly competent leaders. These governments have not ignored the virus. They have not fudged the figures or keep their people in the dark. The have not been indecisive and have acknowledged that while boarders will need to be locked-down and while internal lock-downs are a necessity, the most vulnerable will need to be provided for. They have understood that this crisis is pathological and economical. Above all they did not focus on looking good and pretending to fight this pandemic with half measures and gimmicks, they took real action.

A Robot in an Indonesian hospital fighting COVID 19 Yes money well Spent
Robot in Hospital fighting COVID19, Yes money well spent!!

Maybe spend money on the protective clothing and not the drone, robot or truck.........maybe just maybe

The country of Singapore have the highest IQ in the world. Australia and New Zealand hare right up there. People elect Governments and smart, educated well informed people elect competent leaders and good governments. The people of these three countries have chosen well and it has paid off in a time of crisis. The people of these nations don’t cling to superstitious archaic beliefs, they refuse to accept governments will be inherently corrupt, they don’t believe some divine supernatural entity will miraculously intervene and protect them from this virus. Highly functional Governments are elected by a smart analytical people. Corrupt and inept Governments are elected by ignorant poorly educated masses. Well done to the people of Singapore, Australia and New Zealand Government you have got the Government you deserve!!!

A Truck Disinecting the streets and gutters, maybe they can kill COVID 19 and the nasty mosquitos at the same time. In-genius

How is their neighbour Indonesia coping with this pandemic. Well I told you I will give credit where credit is due and I told you I would not criticise a Government or any politician so I have absolutely NO COMMENT. Remember, you will get the Government you deserve.

COVID 19 The Impact On Online Business and Various Sectors

COVID 19 What are the impacts on Online Marketing and Businesses in Bali?

Well it’s now mid April and the world is in a State of chaos. COVID 19 has definitely left its mark globally. Towns, cities and countries are in complete shut down. The global number or cases exceeds 1mil and the death toll exceeds 100000. This is bad, real bad but in times like this one has to be thankful that they are in good health and not sick. That is the most important thing.

We are however all feeling the pinch. Wages, businesses, industries and entire economies have all been significantly reduced. The future for many is at present uncertain. How has COVID 19 impacted on various industries.

Online advertising in general has reduced massively. Google, Facebook, Instagram, They are all seen a massive reduction in Advertising spend. Companies are being forced to shut down operations around the world so that means for many, lets pull back on spend, specifically advertising spend.

It’s not all bad news, charities have seen a significant gain. People with the means are spending money on charities and this is a great thing to observe. Companies that sell masks and gloves online have also been busy, very busy as have sites that sell hand sanitisers as stocks run low in the local supermarket.

Talking about supermarkets people are buying groceries online now more than ever. Savvy shoppers predict big ques at the checkout and are getting groceries home delivered. Supermarkets in general in many countries have seen a sharp spike in revenue because people are buying in bulk as the next few weeks many be uncertain. The idea that it is better to stock up with a few essentials is not a unique idea. Online food orders have also jumped up dramatically. Restaurants and cafes in many countries have shut down but people still want affordable convenient food so restaurants and cafes are now changing to delivering food as apposed to service food at their venue.

Sadly the service industry has been hit hard and in particular the tourist industry. Across the globe flight cancellations, lock downs, travel restrictions and plain straight out fear have decimated this industry in a short period of time. Businesses that were flourishing two months go and still doing well one month ago have now come to a complete halt and have for the time being shut down their operations. We are all asking the same question? When will this end, when will this get better.

Now being more specific and looking at Bali, they vast majority or businesses and people living in Bali make their livelihood of tourism. The island is now a ghost town with very few tourists. What this means is simply everyone will have to ride this out and budget very carefully until global tourism recovers. That will not be immediate. First the world needs to fully recover from COVID 19 and people, air carriers are countries open their boarders and there is consumer confidence that their jobs are secure and they have the confidence to travel. I hate to be pessimistic but expect this transition to take 12-15 months. If your livelihood depends on tourism, do something else for well a while. If you need Digital Marketing you know we are the best in Bali.

Social Media the Good the Bad and the Ugly

Social Media The Good The Bad and The Ugly

I have to confess I really don't like Facebook or Instagram. I am sick of people taking pictures of their lunch or dinner. I am sick of people well into their 40s taking selfies of themselves. I am sick of girls constantly posing and posing and posing. It’s not just posing. They are actually getting dressed up in an assortment of clothes and going to different locations for the sole purpose of taking selfies. Now if they were professional models I would get it but they are not. Get a life. Saying all of that makes me feel good but Social media in particular Facebook and Instagram can both be very powerful tools to grow your business online. Time and time again I have seen successful social media campaigns really create awareness for a new business and in turn helping it grow. But is there a dark side to social media. Yes there is definitely a dark side. Fake news is a real problem. So many people online are not analytical, if they read something they will believe it without giving much regard for who the author is, what is the authors agenda and will just accept content online as gospel truth. This is very dangerous. One does not have to dig too far to see content that is totally incorrect or very bias to the extreme left or right. It can cause negative waves and can be harmful. Social media platforms are also tools for Governments. Your profile, what you post, who you reach out to, who you communicate with are all carefully being monitored but governments around the world . Intelligence agencies love Facebook, 90% of the information they need is right in front of them thanks to you. Your profile is being monitored and you are not alone. Recently the world has been in shock due to corona virus. If I want up to date reliable information on this pandemic I will go straight to the WHO. I trust them as they are experts in this area. I will also look at a variety of new channels. BBC, Sky News, ABC, CNN and Al Jazeera They all seem competent and relatively trustworthy, I still view the content with an analytical mind and other popular channels like Fox are channels I stay well clear off. Now when we digest content on Social Media it could be anyone saying anything so it is of extreme importance that content viewed on these platforms is done so with some degree of scepticism. Not too long ago a certain county was being accused of not reporting corona virus or severely under reporting by the WHO and neighbouring countries. The nation in questions Minister of Health was saying some very odd things that just did not make any sense at all. He was however allowed to give an explanation. The same week two women were arrested in this country for spreading fake news about the virus. They were apprehended and arrested in an instant. Now I don’t know what they were saying or who was wrong and who was right. What is interesting is that a govement took immediate action when something was posted and they did not like it. However when they were being questioned by the WHO and neighbouring counties their constituents did not question them on Social Media. If you are going to use Social Media you must be very careful to tell the truth as best you see it and without bias otherwise you are creating more fake New and above all be careful not to step on a governments toes or immediate action may be taken against you. Finally for Social Media Assistance you know who to contact.
